We are lucky enough to have one of the few and oldest sock manufacturers in UK just an hour from our studio, so I often go along to see them and discuss new ideas. Tucked away in a sleepy village, they produce over eight thousand pairs of beautiful quality socks each week. They have remained very traditional in their techniques, producing cotton, wool and alpaca socks – amongst others. They have concentrated on the use of traditional double cylinder equipment to produce the socks, they then hand-link them.
